Pinnacle Mountain State Park
With more than 40 miles of hiking trails and peaks rising abruptly from the valley floor, outdoor enthusiasts will love Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Even those who don't consider themselves avid hikers can enjoy nature with easy trails, including the paved and accessible Kingfisher Trail. You can also learn about the park's geology and wildlife at the visitor center.
Little Rock Central High School
Little Rock Central High School never admitted a black student for three decades after it opened. However, in 1954, the Supreme Court declared educational segregation unconstitutional in Brown v. Board of Education. Nine black students subsequently enrolled at Little Rock Central High School, which marked the beginning of a series of events that contributed to the civil rights movement.
Big Dam Bridge
The Big Dam Bridge is the longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge in all of North America. With a total length of 4,300 feet, it crosses the Arkansas River in Little Rock, providing exceptional views of the record-breaking structure and the city skyline.
Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park is a downtown oasis, ideal for family reunions, romantic picnics, or just enjoying some quiet time. With its 11 large blocks, the park offers several play areas for children as well as historic trails that highlight local history.
Arkansas State Capitol
Built over 16 years, the captivating Arkansas State Capitol is made of white marble and limestone. It currently hosts the Arkansas House of Representatives. One of the highlights of this beautiful architecture is the 24-karat gold dome that overlooks the capitol. Guided tours allow you to explore the public spaces of the building.
Little Rock Zoo
Home to more than 700 animals from more than 200 species, the Little Rock Zoo is the largest in the state. It has been open since the 1920s and has grown significantly in size over the years. The zoo offers four different geographic zones, each home to animals such as big cats, playful elephants and towering giraffes.
Funland amusement park
Located in North Little Rock, Funland is a small, family-oriented amusement park where everyone can have a good time. It is known for its charming attractions and affordable entrance fee (only $2 per person). Rides include a train, a carousel, a space shuttle and a Ferris wheel.
William J. Clinton Presidential Library
The William J. Clinton Presidential Library is a must-see for political history buffs. It houses millions of photographs, interactive exhibitions and research facilities. The replicas of the Oval Office and Cabinet Room are particularly memorable.
Old State Museum
Before the current Arkansas State Capitol was built, the government was located in the Old State. This magnificent building is a fine example of Doric architecture and is worth a visit. It is surrounded by a picturesque park.
River Market District
In the 1990s, Little Rock revitalized its downtown by creating the River Market district. This lively neighborhood offers a party atmosphere at any time of day and is home to some of the city's top attractions, including Riverfront Park and the Clinton Presidential Library.
